How do I manage my RSA SecurID Token and Signing Password?
Do you need a token?
You can request one in the RSA SecurID Token options when you fill out the Portas® Personal Security License and RSA SecurID Token Application.
Download the RSA SecurID Soft Token App to your mobile device from either the Apple Store or the Microsoft Store, then Register the token in Portas PASS.
Register your new token and create your token password
Note: Your Token Password is the password you will use for signing.
Tip: Download the “RSA SecurID Software Token” application to your mobile device from your usual app store to your mobile device before taking any additional steps.
Tip: Ensure you are able to receive email on your device.
- Go to portaspass.ca.
- Log in with your current WritFiling account and user name.
Note: You will receive these details from WritFiling Customer Service.
- Answer the security questions, agree to the Terms and Conditions and select Continue.
- On the Portas Registration page, answer the two Security Questions. Use the Tips to set the Security Questions, Answers and Hints, then select Submit.
- Follow the onscreen password rules to create your new token Password, then select Create Password.
- On the Administer Soft Token screen, select your device type and then open the RSA SecurID Software Token app on your device. Follow the on-screen instructions to enter your Device ID or Binding ID, then select Submit.
- Make note of the Token Password on the screen and then select Back to Administration.
- You will receive an email which you will open from your mobile device. This email contains a file which you will open with the RSA SecurID Software Token app and activate your token by entering the Token Password provided on screen.
You are now ready to access WritFiling
Download the RSA SecurID Soft Token App to your mobile device
Download the RSA SecurID Soft Token App to your mobile device from either the Apple Store or the Microsoft Store, then Register the token in Portas PASS.
Activate your replacement token
- Log into Portas PASS and answer the required Security Questions.
- On the Administration page, select Activate your Replacement Token.
The Replace Token screen displays.
- From the options, select the Token Type.
- Select Continue.
- Select Logout, or select Back to Administration if you wish to perform other administrative tasks in Portas PASS.
Resynchronize your token
- Log into Portas PASS and answer the required Security Questions.
- On the Administration page, select Resynchronize Token.
The Resynchronize Token page opens.
- Enter the Current Token Code value in that field.
- Wait until the token value changes, then enter the Next Token Code value in that field.
- Select Submit.
Your token is resynchronized.
- Select Logout, or select Back to Administration if you wish to perform other administrative tasks in Portas PASS.
Test your token
- Log into Portas PASS and answer the required Security Questions.
- On the Administration page, select Test Token.
The Test Token screen displays.
- Enter the code from your device into the Token Code field.
- Select Continue.
Your token is validated.
- Select Logout, or select Back to Administration if you wish to perform other administrative tasks in Portas PASS.
Unlock your token
- Log into Portas PASS and answer the required Security Questions.
- On the Administration page, select Unlock Token.
Your token is unlocked and can now be used to sign Instruments in Teraview.
- Select Logout, or select Back to Administration if you wish to perform other administrative tasks in Portas PASS.
Reset your token password
Note: This is the password you will use to sign documents in WritFiling.
- Log into Portas PASS and answer the required Security Questions.
- On the Administration page, select Reset Password.
The Reset Password screen displays.
- Following the Password Rules, enter and confirm your new password.
- Select Reset Password.
You can use your new password to sign documents in the WritFiling application.
- Select Logout, or select Back to Administration if you wish to perform other administrative tasks in Portas PASS.
Unlock your token password
Note: This is the password you will use to sign documents in WritFiling.
- Log into Portas PASS and answer the required Security Questions.
- On the Administration page, select Unlock Password.
Your password is unlocked.
- Select Logout, or select Back to Administration if you wish to perform other administrative tasks in Portas PASS.
