How do I revise a writ?
Revise – Court Order
To update the writ details in accordance with a court order:
- From the menu, select Writs, then Revise, then Revise – Court Order.
The Search for a writ to revise – court order page displays.
- Enter the Writ file number, and type the first characters of the enforcement office location into the Enforcement office location(s) drop-down list and select the enforcement office from the results.
- Select Search for a writ.
The writ and its details display.
- Select Revise – Court order.
The writ displays.
- Next to the desired section, select Edit.
The section opens for editing.
Note: You must enter the date of the court order and the name of the official who issued the order in the Court order details section.
Note: If you add a new debtor, existing judgments and costs will be automatically applied to it. You can adjust these in the Judgments and Costs sections, once the debtor is added.
Note: If you add a new debtor, make sure to remove the previous debtor and their search name, in the Debtor(s) and Debtor search name(s) sections, before proceeding.
- Make the necessary changes to the necessary sections, following the prompts on-screen.
- Once all your changes are made, select the Certification and undertaking option, enter the Reference ID and a note, if needed.
- If you have signing authority, select Sign and Apply.
The Sign file page displays.
- Enter your account password and RSA SecurID token value.
Tip: The Account Password field on the Sign file page refers to the Token Password you created in PortasPASS. To log into PortasPASS, the Account was provided to you by WritFiling Customer Service when you signed up, or if you are a Teraview user, this is the Teraview Account you use to sign in. You can learn more about your token password in this topic.
- Select Sign and continue to payment.
Note: You can also return to pay or sign by selecting Save and Pay Later or Sign & pay later.
The Fee payment page displays.
- Review the order and from the Payment method drop-down list, select your payment method.
Note: If you select Deposit account, the payment will come directly from that account. Select the account from the drop-down list if you have more than one.
- Follow the prompts on-screen.
Note: To use a stored card, next to the stored card displayed, select Pay with this card.
- To pay and store your credit card details, select Store credit card details, or to enter your details, select Continue to payment.
A confirmation message appears, advising you that you are entering the Moneris system for payment.
- Select OK.
- Follow the payment prompts.
Upon successful payment, your writ details display.
Note: Any changes to debtors will become effective the next valid business day after your submission has been successfully processed.
Tip: You can find your writ in the Submitted Files tab in the dashboard. If your writ is still incomplete, you can access it from your Files in Progress tab.
You can return to the home page by selecting Take me to my dashboard.
Revise – Change of address
To change the creditor, debtor, or representative address details:
- From the menu, select Writs, then Revise, then Revise – Change of address.
The Search for a writ to revise – change of address page displays.
- Enter the Writ file number, and type the first characters of the enforcement office location into the Enforcement office location(s) drop-down list and select the enforcement office from the results.
- Select Search for a writ.
The writ and its details display.
- Select Revise – Change of address.
The writ displays.
- Next to the desired section, select Edit.
The section opens for editing.
- Make the necessary changes to the necessary sections, following the prompts on-screen.
- Once all your changes are made, select the Certification and undertaking option, enter the Reference ID and a note, if needed.
- If you have signing authority, select Sign and Apply.
The Sign file page displays.

Revise – Assignment of judgment
To assign the judgment/debt to one or more creditors and update representative details for an active writ:
- From the menu, select Writs, then Revise, then Revise – Assignment of judgment.
The Search for a writ to revise – assignment of judgment page displays.
- Enter the Writ file number, and type the first characters of the enforcement office location into the Enforcement office location(s) drop-down list and select the enforcement office from the results.
- Select Search for a writ.
The writ and its details display.
- Select Revise – Assignment of judgment.
The writ displays.
- Next to the desired section, select Edit.
The section opens for editing.
Note: A creditor can have only one representative on record. If a new creditor or representative is added, it will replace all existing creditors and representatives on the writ. Existing representatives and creditors will remain on-screen, but will not appear the next time you log in.
- Make the necessary changes to the necessary sections, following the prompts on-screen.
- Once all your changes are made, select the Certification and undertaking option, enter the Reference ID and a note, if needed.
- If you have signing authority, select Sign and Apply.
